Mother’s Day Out

A program to provide parents with a regular block of time to meet personal and family needs. It is our mission to offer quality childcare through a happy, Christian experience.
Centerstage

The mission of the Centerstage Student Ministry here at FBC Covington is to place God in the center stage of their lives. We want to lead 7th – 12th grade students into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by creating environments where students are encouraged and equipped to pursue intimacy with God, community with Christ followers, and influence with friends.
Prayer Bands

If you are looking for a place to serve for one hour than perhaps leading or joining, a prayer band is a place for you. If God is leading to serve as a prayer band leader contact our Associate Pastor Jay Johnston and he will equip you as you take on this leadership position.
College & Young Professionals

The FBC College ministry exists to encourage college age students into a growing relationship with Jesus by becoming his disciple. We want to know the Lord in a way that changes us, and then through us changes the world. We desire for college students to lead other students in discipleship and ministry.
Special Needs

This ministry seeks to reach out to special needs individuals and their families. The goal is to assist every special needs individual, from preschool age to adult, in having the opportunity to be a viable part of our church body, and through this to experience a much needed sense of belonging and inclusion.
Mother’s Of Preschoolers (MOPS)

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers, a program led by mothers themselves and designed for mothers with children ages birth to 5. These mothers all have a shared desire…to be the best mothers they can be!
Women’s Ministry

Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Church exists to serve Jesus Christ by equipping the women of our church and community through Bible Study, Prayer, Discipleship, Evangelism, Missions, and Fellowship so each woman may grow and mature in her personal walk with Jesus Christ.
Adults 55+

The Adults 55+ Ministry of FBC, Covington seeks to meet the need of adults 55+, provide them with opportunities for service and reach adults 55+ in our community for Christ. We seek to achieve these goals by providing opportunities for fellowship, support and spiritual enrichment.
Worship & Media Team

These ministries serve the congregation, the home bound, those longing to hear the good news, and even our service men and women overseas!
Music

The Single Adult Ministry of FBC, Covington exists to help the single adult community GROW in their relationships and dependence on Christ, CONNECT with God and other believers, and SERVE according to their unique gifts and personalities.

Celebrate Recovery

A Christ-centered ministry that provides a safe haven for those seeking to work through their issues. It offers a fresh start, new hope, on-going support and encouragement for the entire family.
Caregivers’ Relief

Help by sitting with one of our homebound members to give their family member/caregiver some relief and time out of the house. Consider leading a devotional or Bible Study with the homebound member or assist with needs around the home.
Hospital Ministry

This ministry welcomes people who are gifted in encouraging the sick and the hurting. We visit those from our membership and those connected to our membership who are in local and regional hospitals on the North Shore and in New Orleans.
Homebound Ministry

Individuals of any age OR an entire Bible Study class are welcome to participate in visiting and ministering to our homebound membership, including those who reside in nursing homes.
Grief Share

This is a Christian support group for those dealing with the losses of life. This thirteen-week program is offered several times a year on a small group basis. Leadership of this group includes both professional counselors and FBC lay ministers who are gifted at helping people deal with the grief process.
Divorce Care

Divorce Care is a ministry committed to helping people rebuild their lives after divorce.

Adult Choir
This choir leads in worship on Sundays at the 8:30am services. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:00pm This choir is for adults of all ages. Join us for weekly worship or for seasonal events.

Celebration Singers
The Celebration Singers choir provides the opportunity for a meaningful ministry through music for adults 55+. The choir shares at worship services and ministers beyond our church walls at nursing homes, retirement centers, rallies and luncheons. The Celebration Singers meet on Tuesdays at 9:00am in the Choir Room. No prior experience is necessary, and the choir is open to all adults 55+ who love to sing or who desire to learn to sing.

Handbell Choir
It’s time to ring again! Our Handbell Choir Ministry resumes on Monday, August 30, with a special workshop and fellowship dinner from 4:30 – 7:30pm led by special guest, R.E. Thompson. R.E. is the author of the book The Ministry of Handbells and will get our group off to a great start this fall. No experience is necessary, so come ring with us!

Orchestra
Our church orchestra plays at the 8:30am Sunday services and at other special events. All instruments are needed and practice is held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30pm in the Worship Center.

Praise Band
This band plays at the Saturday night worship service and Sunday 9:30 & 11:00am worship services. It requires a high level of commitment and experience.

Vocal Ensembles
We are blessed to offer vocal ensembles for both men and ladies! These ensembles are made up of 10 to 12 singers each, and they sing periodically in our worship services throughout the year. Our Men’s Ensemble rehearses on Sunday afternoon at 5:15pm, while our Ladies Ensemble rehearses on Wednesday night at 5:30pm.

Worship Team
We have several groups of vocal praise teams that provide leadership in our Saturday night worship service and Sunday, 9:30 & 11:00am worship services. These groups require a high level of commitment.

Youth Choir
Looking for a great music and worship experience for your teenager? Youth choir is the place! Our students practice throughout the school year at 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon and even have the opportunity to sing in our worship services periodically. Our big event of the year is the annual Spring Break Music & Missions Tour every spring. Each year brings a new location, and this is a great opportunity for your student to sing, serve through missions, and show the love of God!
