Jesus told us to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), but we often think that simply means to send missionaries and to give money. These verses certainly mean that, but they also mean much more.
A literal translation of Matthew 28:19-20 goes something like this: “As you go, make disciples of all the nations (ethnicities), baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things I commanded you and behold I am with you all the days until the end of the age.”
You will notice that the imperative command is to “make disciples.” We are to do this “as we go.” It could also be translated “having gone, make disciples.”
We are always going somewhere. Jesus seems to be telling us to take on making disciples a part of our everyday lives.
For this reason, we are going to join with many other like-minded churches to emphasize John 3:16 on March 16, 2025.
This verse tells us so much about who God is and what He has done for us. It tells us of eternal possibilities for our lives.
As we worship on March 15 and 16, we want to emphasize the life-saving plan of God. We want to make disciples!
Will you join with me by inviting your friends and family to your Connect Group and to Worship?
