I hope you know that we cannot do ministry without you. In fact, our calling as pastors and ministerial leaders is “to equip the Saints for the work of ministry, and for building up the body of Christ” Ephesians 4:12. Paul continues by emphasizing that the ultimate goal of this ministry is for us all to … attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, and to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. Ephesians 4:13.
We are all called to ministry, and we are all called to serve. I was heartened this past weekend at your warm reception of my call that we are all to serve in some capacity in the work of ministry. As pastors, we are excited because we know that we need you to work with us and that God‘s plan is for all of us to be used as ministers and servants in the Kingdom of God.
That leads us to a practical issue. How do I get started, and how do I get trained?
Over the weekend I mentioned the PLACE ministry, a six-week course that will help you identify your spiritual gift and begin the process of using your gifts for the Kingdom of God.
The next PLACE class is scheduled to begin Sunday, September 8, 2024. You can sign up by going to the church website fbccov.org to get the information you need and to register for the class.
If you already know of a possible place of service, you can begin the process of registering and being trained at the website as well. Simply go to fbccov.org/serve and you will be exactly where you need to be to begin
the process.
As the pastoral staff, we are thrilled at your willingness to serve and to build up the body of Christ.
May God bless us all as we seek to serve and please Him and as we become more and more like Christ.
