Lagniappe: Three Miracles

On Wednesday nights, I am currently teaching through the Gospel of Matthew. It’s always a joy and a blessing to teach Holy Scripture.

This past Wednesday night I taught from Matthew 8:1–17, a passage of Scripture containing three miracles of Jesus which are not chronological but are grouped together because of the common truth that they teach.

Obviously, each miracle teaches that Jesus is the Son of God and has the power to forgive sin and heal lives. But the Apostle Matthew seems to have been prompted by the Holy Spirit to group these three together to show that God has no outcasts. The three people healed were a leper, the servant of a Roman Centurion, and a woman. All three would be limited by Judaism.

But they are not limited by God. God sent His Son so that there would be no outcasts. He sent His Son because He desires that none should perish but that all should come to the truth (2 Peter 3:9). God desires for all to be saved.

This weekend we will emphasize the FIRST STEP, a step of submission, obedience, and faith in God. God desires that you know Him and experience the newness of life that comes by faith in Him.

Would you join me in praying that many people would come to know Christ and would submit their lives unto Him?
