This medical/evangelism/Christian training trip seeks to reach, help, and train people in two very different venues in Uganda. We will be able to work with Christian leaders in both rural northern Uganda (Lamwo) and in the capital city of Kampala. Our mission will be to help people medically while also doing evangelism and at the same time train pastors and other leaders in the church. Who should go? People who are comfortable sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. People who love Jesus and are trained medically. People who desire to train leaders to help their local churches thrive.
Participants will work with:
- Cross Healing Ministries – Cross Healing Ministries is a Christian, non-governmental organization (NGO) operating in Uganda. Its founder, Pastor Odong George, began Cross Healing Ministries to extend hope and care to people affected by HIV/AIDS, poverty, drug abuse, domestic violence, and divorce. Pastor George leads The Cross Healing Ministries Church in Kampala, The Cross Healing Primary School in Lamwo, and the Lawmo Cross Healing Church.
- Develop A Child Africa – John Mugowa founded Develop a Child Africa Ministries (DACAM), a Christian, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Kampala, Uganda. The ministry currently works with 200 families, including 500 children in three locations: the Katoogo Slum located in the outskirts of Kampala in Gaba, Kyagwe Mukono across Lake Victoria from Gaba, and Lugazi Kasokoso, an undeveloped community just 80 km east of Kampala. DACAM’s long term goal is to develop a self-sustainable, Christ-centered community in both Lugazi and Kyagwe for the people currently living in the Katoogo Slum whose houses have been inundated with floodwaters.
