We have kicked-off the Fall/back-to-school season and are watching God work mightily in our church. What we see is a recognition that we all need the Lord and what He does in our lives.
Important events coming up that you will want to take note of:
Monday, August 26th – The Sewing & Crafting Servants – are moving into the “newly renovated Reach Building” located beside the West parking Lot. This group of ladies, from all over our community, meets weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays to fellowship while they sew, craft, and quilt. Everyone is welcome to join this outreach ministry. For more information, call Barb Kellar at 985-630-3812.
Sunday, September 1st @ 4:00pm – River Baptism – I hope that you will join our church family for our annual river baptism at the Bogue Falaya Park in downtown Covington, as we celebrate with new believers who are taking the next step in their faith journey. If you have not followed Christ in baptism, I hope that you will consider being baptized.
Baptism is not a ritual. It marks a relationship. Therefore, we ask that you talk with a pastor about your relationship with Christ. We want you to know Him and live your life for Him. Beginning your journey with Christ and following Him in baptism will make our day!
September 4th @ 10:00am – Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible Study. Our new study, “Who IS That Woman?” led by Martha Bailey, begins in the Worship Center.
As you read through the Bible, you find strong influential women who made a powerful positive impact on their world. You’ll smile with great admiration and say, “What a woman!” But you will also find strong influential women in the Bible who had a powerful negative impact on their world. You’ll roll your eyes, shake your head with great consternation and say, “Who IS that woman???”
Come join us on Wednesday mornings as we learn from some of those women who got it right and those who didn’t. I need a good role model – how about you? – Martha Bailey
