We are two weeks away from Easter! What a wonderful, blessed day. It is the day that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Because of His resurrection, every Lord’s Day is a time of remembrance and celebration as well.
It’s now time to begin preparing for this big day. I have three things I want you to know about Easter 2024, and three things I want you to do.
Here are the three things I want you to know:
- We have three Easter worship services at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, then 9:30 & 11:00 a.m. Sunday. All three services are the same and should give us the number of seats we need to have a record attendance at FBC.
- We will NOT have Connect groups on Easter weekend. This should provide plenty of parking for everyone.
- The Thursday before Easter – Maundy Thursday – @ 7 PM will be a time for the church to meet together for the Lord’s Supper. We hope you will attend this special worship time.
Here are three things I want you to do:
- Find someone to invite to attend worship with you. As you know, more and more people have never been to church and really have no idea what a church like ours might be like. Also, so many people do not really know the story of Jesus and the hope of the resurrection. You inviting them to come with you may be the beginning of their coming to know the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Make our guests very comfortable. Here are some things that you can do: move to the middle of the row, help our guests find a seat, and greet them warmly and kindly.
- If you are able, attend Saturday for worship and Sunday for service – for example, be a greeter, work in the parking lot, or some other of our needs for the day.
We are planning for these to be special worship times – and an opportunity to think seriously about WHO Jesus is and WHAT He did.
