I hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day, even if you don’t have a father in your home.
In a world struggling with family stability, let me give you a few meaningful suggestions of how to make your family better:
First: Treat the members of your family as you would want to be treated and love them as you love yourself.
Second: Follow biblical teachings for your beliefs and behavior. Seek God’s teaching so that you can encourage your family members to live for God as well.
Third: Things in particular that fathers should do:
- Treat your wife with respect and honor her – encourage her and help her be the best she can be. Teach your sons how to treat a woman. Teach your daughters what to expect in a man. These are vital for the future of your family. We cannot get along without these principles.
- Love your children and let them know that they are loved. Treat them with dignity and encourage them. Let them know that they matter to you and that you would do anything to protect them and to bless them.
- Bless your children with Godly wisdom and teach them about God‘s favor and God‘s goodness.
- Give them an example of living Godly. We all learn more by what we see modeled than what we are taught.
May God bless you today, and may God bless your family.
