It has been overwhelming to see the outpouring of generosity from our church, and community at large, with the donations of supplies and monetary gifts for Hurricane Disaster Relief.
What has been done so far:
- Three semi-truck trailers have been filled, and a fourth should be filled by the weekend.
- Around 120 pallets of items have been donated. (approximately 28-30 pallets fill a semi- truck trailer).
- These trailers have been sent to Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia.
- A cooking team left Thursday morning to go to Newport, TN with a load of jambalaya and supplies.
- Our chainsaw teams are departing on Sunday and heading to Swannanoa, NC.
- We continue to collect needed items and have been offered additional trailers for supplies.
What is still needed:
- Items: WATER, protein drinks, canned meats, ready-to-eat canned food, BABY ITEMS.
- Monetary gifts – in addition to your normal offerings – donations can be given through cash/checks/on-line giving. 100% of these monies goes directly to the Hurricane Relief efforts.
- Volunteers needed to help man the Pavilion drop-off area (back parking lot). You can come for a few hours or a day. Mon-Sat 8:30-4:30; Sunday 11:00-4:30.
- Check our website at FBCCOV.ORG for the latest information on needs and updates.
- The needs of the Florida residents from the aftermath of Hurricane Milton will be addressed after an assessment has been made of the hard-hit areas.
- Note: We ARE NOT accepting used clothing, as the areas we are sending supplies DO NOT have adequate storage or volunteers to separate and manage these items.
