We need to let you know that Clif Smith has taken a position with First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, effective at the end of February. In this new position, Clif will work with the pastor to give direction to the minister of education and all of the education ministries.
Clif and his family came to FBC 17 years ago, soon after Hurricane Katrina. He’s done a great job of helping us to organize and to lead what we now call our Connect Groups. During his time, our Connect Groups have grown to an average attendance of almost 1600. We are thankful for Clif and Elaine and their children, and we pray God‘s blessings upon them.
We are working in the short term to reassign Clif’s responsibilities to various other pastors and administrative staff. The personnel team is aware of Clif’s intentions and will be working with me to restructure the staff. We continue to be in good hands with the leadership of Bill Boren, Josh Jordan, and David Rockett as they lead groups.
I hope you will take the opportunity to thank Clif for his ministry among us.
