I had this asked recently, “How do you do ministry during pandemics and hurricanes?”

The questioner implied that ministry really can’t be done in the age of Covid.

While I completely sympathize with my friend, I can’t imagine the Apostle Paul thinking that he couldn’t do ministry because he was in prison, or because of persecution, or famine.

We have the records to show that the early church exploded in growth in the midst of the worst circumstances imaginable.

I have a quotation in my office that reads, “If Paul and Silas could sing in prison, surely you can hum a few bars yourself.”

It’s time to hum. Even in the most difficult of circumstances, we can make a difference in peoples’ lives. Think with me about all the children whose hearts are open to the gospel, but who have no one to tell them the story. Think about all the young adults who are ready to start off in life but have never heard of the giver of life.

Let me encourage you to not “be weary in well-doing.” This the day the lord has made. Let’s make sure we are joyful and productive in this day the Lord has given us.
