Week 4 of “Did you know?” In the three previous weeks we pointed out Support Groups, Resources, and Service Opportunities – this is the final week and we will look at Missions.

God wants His Word to “speed on and triumph” all around the world as it did in 2 Thessalonians 3:1. Here are a few ways we have to reach out locally and care for people around us, and to help them know the love of Christ.

Samaritan Center
We partner with the Samaritan Center for benevolence needs. This is a Christian organization offering emergency assistance with food for those in our community who are in need – and with limited assistance for utilities, rent/mortgage, transportation, & medicines that may be provided in some circumstances. The hope and purpose is that with God’s grace we may be able to assist those people in need on their path back to self-sufficiency. If you are interested in helping through donations or volunteering, contact Pastor Glynn Robinson at grobinson@fbccov.org

Sewing Servants
The Sewing Servants are a large group of women who meet each Monday in the ROC. They are mission oriented and make a wide variety of items that are used in Operation Christmas Child, sent to Uganda to aid the women and children with clothing and personal care items, help local ministries with blankets, as well as take items and food to areas hard hit by disaster. This is a very versatile group who loves the Lord, loves people, and loves to fellowship. If you would like more information please call Barb Kellar at 985-630-3812 or bkellar@bellsouth.net

Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Team
The Disaster Relief Team is organized through the Louisiana Southern Baptist and offers assistance following disasters in our area, as well as our neighboring states. They do chainsaw and fallen tree removal, debris cleanup, cooking & feeding, mudouts following floods, and give emotional and spiritual support to those left in the wake of disaster. If you are interested in more information or joining the team, contact Pastor Glynn Robinson at grobinson@fbccov.org

Upward Sports is a Christian based sports league for children who practice and play on the FBC Cov sports fields. Please check our website fbccov.org for information and children sign-up. If you are interested in becoming a coach for flag football or cheerleading, please contact Pastor Josh Jordan at jjordan@fbccov.org
