As I write this, VBS is nearing completion. I simply cannot express how meaningful this week has been.
We have truly had an enjoyable time filled with energy and anticipation. We have seen so many children who are vitally interested in Scripture and in knowing Christ. It truly seems that this youngest generation, like Paul, wants to know Christ and the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10).
We have had record attendance in all three days for VBS, and we have had more than 500 volunteers leading the way.
I want to thank each of you for letting your children and grandchildren attend. I especially want to thank all of you who volunteered and gave your time and energy this week. In addition, thanks to all of you who have prayed and sought God‘s work in our lives.
As you may know, the Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting is being held in New Orleans this week. While this is primarily a business meeting, it is vital for the work that we do. Please be in prayer for those messengers who will attend and for all those who will lead in the proceedings.
We are asking God to work in great ways through our churches in the years to come.
Also, we have a group of 12 – youth & parents – heading to Uganda on Monday. Besides Pastor Glynn Robinson, none of these volunteers have been. Please remember to lift this group up in prayer as they go witness and minister with our partnering ministry in Uganda.
