As I write this, I am looking out my office window at our Plaza Christmas Tree going up. We are looking forward to Sunday night when we will celebrate this Christmas Tree Lighting with carols, cocoa, and cookies at 6pm on the South Lawn.
The Christmas tree lighting is a fun event tailormade for children and adults to think about Jesus being the light of the world. It also gives us time to remember what God did for us by sending His Son.
I hope you will join us for this special time.
This week is also a time of new beginnings for our church.
- All our Connect Groups will begin a Study on the Book of Genesis, which will continue to cover all of the Book. This is a great opportunity for you to join in a connect group, and an opportunity to explore the great theological teachings of Scripture.
- The sermon series will turn to focus on the Christmas message from Luke 1-2. Luke’s gospel is unique. As far as we know, Luke was a gentile convert who put together his gospel to give an “orderly account” of all that Jesus said and did. I hope you will join us this Sunday, and all the Sundays of December, as we look at the narrative of the birth of Jesus in the Gospel of Luke.
Then next Sunday, December 3rd we will have Miracle in the Manger – a fun Christmas Season event for K-6th graders with live animals, special guests, a “Bethlehem marketplace”, and more! This will happen during their Connect Group times at 9:30am & 11am
