Lagniappe: An Eventful Summer!

It’s hard to believe but we are now about halfway through the summer school break, and we have had a very eventful summer so far!

Each week we see children walking to the front to show that they have trusted Christ as their Lord and Savior. It is a beautiful sight! We are very thankful for the large number of children who trusted Christ during Vacation Bible school.

This last week we concluded Vacation Bible School at FBC Kenner. We are extremely thankful for the opportunities to reach families and touch lives on the Southshore.

We will be having Baptism in the Plaza this weekend after both the 6PM Service on Saturday and after the 11AM Service on Sunday. I hope you will take time to encourage these individuals and families in their commitment to follow Christ.

Please remember that we will have a Congregational Meeting Wednesday Night – June 28th. This is a follow-up meeting and vote on the proposed change to the church by-laws that we discussed last month. At that meeting we heard the proposal, added an amendment, and discussed the changes. The proposal will be voted on without discussion this Wednesday night. This is the first of several processes that will help get us ready for the future.

I hope you will join us Wednesday evening as we study Scripture – 2 John & 3 John – and meet about this by-law update.

Also, Martha and I want to thank you for your gracious gift of time away during July. While we are looking forward to this time, you can be assured that we will miss you and will be ready to return to serve with you in August.

REMINDER: During the month of July, there will be NO Tuesday Men’s Breakfast, Pastor’s Bible Study, or Preschool and Children’s Ministry activities on Wednesday nights. All of these activities will be back in full swing starting August 1st!
