Sometimes, I simply feel “stuck.”
“Stuck” is not a good place to be. It means that things are not going right in a relationship, a career, or with God.
Is it possible to get unstuck? How do you get out of the rut and into life as God purposed it to be?
First, determine to be the answer to the problem. Our problems are exactly that–they are our problems. Only as we take ownership of the problem, do we have much hope to get out of the rut.
How many times have you said, “It’s not my problem, I’m not the one who needs to change?” As I counsel with people, I hear that response often. Until we acknowledge our part in the problem and determine to do something about it, we can never get unstuck.
Second, determine to do something different. You’ve heard one definition of insanity–doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result. Are you doing the same thing over and over?
Is it time to do something different?
Look at different answers to your dilemma. Get counsel from people who know God. Be willing to look at things from a different point of view.
Third, include God in your situation. Ask Him to be closely involved and ask Him what you should do.
God wants to bless our lives, and He wants to be at the center of what’s going on with us. God is a God of progress. He’s ready to help us get out of the rut and into His will.
Instead of making God the last resort, make Him the first person to whom you turn. Ask Him to show you the way.
God wants to do this. “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left” (Isaiah 30:21).
Finally, determine to obey His leading. When you do, you will find He is a light to your path and a guide for your way.
Have a great week!
