Dr. Waylon Bailey

I have good news!

We are continuing to see growth and building as we meet together to worship and to serve our Lord.

This past weekend we had over 90% of our previous year attendance in both worship and connect groups. Not only was this our highest percentage of previous attendance, but it was also the largest numerical attendance we have had in both connect groups and in worship.

We obviously have much for which to be thankful as we see, week by week, the people returning to both connect groups and worship.

But there is something much larger at work. In our Thursday morning pastoral staff meeting, we reported four people who had professed faith in Christ during Wednesday evening activities – and two of these were adults in their 20s!

Our attendance is also being boosted by so many people who are new to First Baptist Church in all its campuses. We prayed that God would open doors for the gospel, and it appears He is certainly doing so.

I don’t have to tell you how difficult this year has been. Our pastors and our staff have been magnificent in their work ethic and in their strategy for making a difference in our world by making Christ known. We have made it our goal not just to get back to where we were, but to get back and to move beyond.

Our goal and Christ’s command is not that we would maintain – but that we would reach out with the good news of Christ Jesus.

I thank our great God for his wonderful blessings!
