Lagniappe: Thankful for Our Facilities

On Thursday of this week, I had the opportunity to walk over the entire complex of First Baptist Church. While I have an office in the administrative section, I don’t often get to just walk the hallways and rooms of
all of the buildings. It was a great opportunity, and I left with three important assessments.

First, the buildings are well used by a lot of people. I saw several groups and several individuals as I made my rounds. I saw both attenders and volunteers. I am thankful that the buildings are available for so many people (on Thursday, by the way, many of the people who were meeting were not members of our church). I am thankful that we have a complex that is open to the community and is used for the needs of other people. Please remember that your kind spirit and faithful giving help make that possible. Did you know that for most of our ministries – about half of those who attend are not members of this congregation?

Second, I saw how our facilities crew lovingly and carefully takes care of our buildings & grounds. They look clean – and they smell clean. I am thankful for these individuals and for their hard work that they do “unto the Lord.”

Third, I am thankful for all of you who care for the buildings and make it possible to use for the glory of our God. May God bless you, as you serve Him.

A final thing you need to know is that our next congregational meeting is Wednesday, August 30th @ 6:45pm in Central Hall. While at the moment we don’t have anything major to bring before the congregation, it’s always good to hear what is happening around us and how God is working through His people. I hope that you will be a part of that meeting.
