Will you be receiving a gift for Easter? Some people (not just children) receive gifts for every Easter.
That means, of course, that many people give gifts for Easter.
This week we celebrate what many people call “Holy Week.” It is the week we remember that Christ gave Himself on the cross for us. This Thursday evening, we will meet together at 7 PM in the Worship Center to give praise to God and to remember the sacrifice of Christ as we partake of the Lord’s supper. It will be a time of remembering His body given for us, and His blood shed for the forgiveness of our sin.
With these events in mind, would you think of giving God a special gift this Easter?
I want to talk with you about the gift of service. We need people to serve for what will be our largest attendance of the year this Easter weekend. Since we are not having Connect Groups, all of us have an opportunity to serve in a different way. We need people to work in the parking lot, serve as ushers and greeters. We probably need people to just “be in the moment“ and aware of new people who may be coming for the very first time – maybe the first time ever in a church worship service.
But it’s not only Easter that we need you to serve. We need you year-round. We need this to be your gift to Christ so that others may know and serve Him as well.
Our church pastoral team discussed this need this past week. We recognize the need to have a culture of service to God. Would you consider asking God to direct you to how you can serve Him? If you can serve this weekend, please get in touch with Colby Rimes in the Church office.
May God bless you as you serve him. I promise you that if you do serve, you will be blessed.
